Frequently Asked Questions
TCG Services has been providing Goods and Services for NJ’s DDD (Division of Developmental Disabilities) clients for over four years. As the leading supplier in New Jersey, we work with Support Coordinators, parents, and guardians to facilitate the process of obtaining necessary goods and services. Below are some common questions and answers about how we work.
How does the process work?
Step 1: Identify a justified need for the goods or services.
Step 2: Determine if an evaluation is required. This decision is made by the Support Coordinator.
Step 3: If an evaluation is required, it must be completed first.
Step 4: Once the evaluation is complete, the Support Coordinator sends it to us.
Step 5: We send an invoice to the Support Coordinator with a 10%-20% markup for the items or services listed in the evaluation.
Step 6: Once DDD approves the invoice, an SDR (Statewide Direct Referral) without the word “DRAFT” is generated. The Support Coordinator sends the approved SDR to us.
Step 7: We pay for the equipment or service, ship it directly to the client’s residence, and provide an ETA or service confirmation to the Support Coordinator.
Step 8: Finally, we bill PPL (Public Partnerships LLC) for reimbursement.
Do you suggest items or services to clients? No, we do not suggest items or services. We encourage families or clients to choose what they want, as suggestions from Support Coordinators or us often result in dissatisfaction and returns.
Do you accept Easter Seals for payment?
No, we no longer accept Easter Seals.
What is an SDR, and why is it important? An SDR (Statewide Direct Referral) is a document required to process goods or services. It must be approved and must NOT have the word “DRAFT” in it to proceed.
Is there a list of previously approved items that did not require an evaluation?
Yes, we maintain a list of items approved by the DDD without requiring an evaluation. This list provides helpful ideas for families and Support Coordinators.
